About Asher
Asher Kenneth Mills was born on December 16th, 2015 at 12:34 in the afternoon. His life was short, but filled with joy, brought happiness to a lot of people, and forever changed our world. He loved Christmas lights, artwork, music and enjoying sunny days outside. He was an amazing boy who put on display how beautiful the world can be and made us aware and appreciate the love and generosity that exists all around us in the communities we live. Turning 8 this year, Asher would have continued bringing people together and making his neighborhood a happier place while surely wearing out his mom and dad. We imagine that this run will do just that. In his honor, we will continue to hold his annual charity run/walk/gathering to see old friends, meet new friends, and share the love that Asher shared with us.
About the Run
Modeled off of other great events around the country*, the idea was created, as a means to celebrate Asher and the Holiday season, that an event be held in December to have fun and raise money for a cause that he would be happy about. A run seemed like a good way to get folks outside to enjoy his favorite neighborhood park, and offering brunch is always a good idea to ensure anyone will come. Hence, Asher's Fun Run was created. The Run has taken on various forms through the course of it's history and this year is no exception. The 6th annual Fun Run (and 1st Photo Competition) is to take place December 18th, 2021. It's purpose to have a good time, support a good cause, and remember Asher in the best way we can, by enjoying the company of one another, and giving back in his name.
